Join us for Bike MS Pedal to the Point 2009
August 15 - 16, 2009
**New Cedar Point/Soak City Ticket Policy** Those riders interested in receiving a Cedar Point or Soak City ticket will need to have the minimum contribution amount of $250 turned in on or before August 7th.* NOTE: The incorrect deadline was printed in the Registered Rider Packet. Money turned in after August 7th cannot be guaranteed to be included.
Please remember that Bike MS is a fundraising event for the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National MS Society. Without the funds raised through this event, we cannot continue to provide the programs and services to the people who need it most - those with MS, their families and their caregivers. If you need any help with fundraising, let us know.
* This policy does not apply to Top Fundraisers from Bike MS 2008. Top Fundraisers do not have to have the $250 minimum turned in at the time of the ride to receive their ticket.
NEW in 2009 - The Century Loop has a new name. Riders have the option of riding an additional loop of 25 miles on Saturday. In 2009, this loop will be renamed the Kent Clapp Extra Lap in honor of Kent Clapp, CEO of Medical Mutual of Ohio, who died in a chartered plane crash in December, along with his fiance.
Overnight Options
In Sandusky on Saturday, August 15th, you have several activity options:
1) Cedar Point/Soak City - If you have at least the minimum donation amount of $250 turned in by August 7th, you will be able to receive a ticket to your choice of Cedar Point or Soak City. Tickets are good for Saturday, August 15th only. If you do not have the minimum turned in, you will need to purchase a friends and family ticket to Cedar Point for $35 and Soak City for $25.
2) Bowling - Bowling will again be available at Star Lanes. Sign up when you check in at Sandusky High School and from 6pm to 9pm you can enjoy bowling, pizza and soda. Transportation will be available to and from the Bowling Alley from Sandusky High School.
3) Remain at Sandusky High School - Activities will be available at Sandusky High School including movie and raffle. And what better chance to meet and socialize with the other riders?
Underage Rider Policy
In an effort to help minimize risk during the Bike MS event, in order to participate in any Bike MS event, the following guidelines must be followed:
- All underage riders MUST be 12 years of age or older by August 15, 2009
- All underage riders must have a signed and notarized waiver on file
- All underage riders must be accompanied by a parent/responsible adult (at least 21 years of age) at all times
- If a child is on a tandem, all requirements above still apply
- No trailers, carriers or tagalongs will be permitted on the route
For all Riders:
All riders are expected to meet the $250 pledge minimum and have until September 30, 2009 to turn in money to be eligible for a fundraising prize. Outstanding pledges can certainly be turned in after September 30th but will not count toward prizes.
Checks should be made payable to: The National MS Society and should have the rider's name listed in the memo section of the check. This will ensure that the donation is credited correctly.
